Neurodiversity

We are SEN trained, and with communication between yourselves and our manager there is no reason why neurodiverse people can’t enjoy a food tour.

There will be the usual noise, hsutle and bustle of restaurants and bars, and disruption movig from one venue to another. With care and knowledge of your circumstances and tour flexibility, an inclusive environment is acheivable.

Why should I come if I’m from Chester?

Enjoy trying food & drink from a variety of independent vendors, there might be a few surprises. Dishes are designed especially for the tour, so some things are exclusive to us. We’re fancy.

Are gift vouchers available?

Gift vouchers are available for all the public tours we run.

The only exception are corporate or private tours as these are often bespoke.

The Girl’s Night Out Tour can be tailored to suit your specific tastes and requirements. Get in touch to chat about adding or changing elements of the tour. Otherwise, vouchers can be purchased for a set tour.

Can children come on the tour?

Teenagers and children are certainly welcome on the tour but may get bored. This is an adult-orientated tour; therefore, we go into bars and restaurants where alcohol is served.

Child discount

A discount is offered for those under 16. Please contact us regarding this.

Contact us to discuss if you need to bring children under 5 years old and we will try to can accommodate you.

Is there a lot of walking on the tours?

The Chester on a Plate Tour is around a 5k walk but at a gentle pace, there are a couple of inclines and some steps but mostly it is flat.

The Brewery Tour is around 4k.

The Girls Night Out Tour is either with some sightseeing or none and simply a great night sampling a variety of bars and eateries. You can decide on the amount of walking involved. Depends on your footwaer for the evening!

Are there vegetarian and vegan options?

We work hard to accommodate vegan and vegetarian diets. All our current tours offer vegetarians, vegans and pescatarian options at each stop.

Are food allergies and dietary requirements catered for?

We ask that you make us aware of your allergies when you book so that we can inform our venues and keep you safe. Contact us if you feel you need some reassurance. We will happily put you in touch with our excellent venue managers who are always happy to assist in this matter.

We can cater for celiacs and people with a gluten intolerance; lactose intolerance; egg intolerance; soy allergy; kiwi allergy; mushroom allergy; seafood allergy; nut allergy.

Anyone with a a severe allergy must bring an EPI pen or they cannot join the food tour.

Are private, corporate, club or organization social tours available?

We are experienced in providing corporate tours and away days.

The tours cater for all the above and all tours can be tailored.

Bespoke prices can be agreed on depending on requirements, including length or tour, number of guests in your group, etc.

Contact us to arrange a family/friend private group tour, club event, organisation or special celebratiomn. Tailored to your needs and arranged at a time that suits you and your group.

How long is the tour?

The main tour, ‘Get a Taste for Chester’, varies in length depending on numbers, whether some people are a little slower than others, weather, and a variety of other factors, but you can expect the tour to be between 4-4.5 hours long to the final stop.

Can I cancel my booking and get a refund?

Yes, a refund is possible within 3 days of the tour start date, or we can move your booking.

We are happy to move your booking to another available date if you let us know more than 72 hours in advance.

Will the tour be cancelled in bad weather?

Unless snow or severe weather makes the tour dangerous then we will continue with the tour.

We try to run the food tour in all weathers. There are plenty of stops and opportunities to hide from the rain on the rows!

Can dogs come on the tour?

Dogs are welcome on the tour providing the other guests on your chosen date are agreeable once contacted. We also ask that your doggo is a well-behaved bundle of joy!

Please indicate that you wish to bring your dog along in ‘special requirements’ and we will get in contact with you.

Some people may be allergic or afraid of dogs, and some of the premises won’t allow very large or disruptive dogs.

What if I don't drink alcohol?

A £5 discount is available for non-drinkers or designated drivers. Excellent alternatives are provided at each stop.

Overall, these are a similar price to the alcoholic beverages, as they come in a package that has been specially put together by our venues for the tour.

You don’t lose out as a non-drinker. Mocktails and alcohol substitutes are some excellent at our venues. And there’s an ice cream option at one stop if you prefer!
