Get your ticket to a world of fabulous food
The Taste Cheshire Food Festival has run for decades in Chester, bringing some of the finest food and drink suppliers to our city. The racecourse and Chester castle have both been Chester Food Festival locations. With the new management and a fresh start for this family friendly festival for food lovers, Chester Race Course will remain its home. The newly named ‘Cheshire & North Wales Food and Drink Festival’. will see Cestrians and Welsh visitors mixing and mingling trying fabulous fare from both countries.
The revamped food festival will be the same great food and entertainment. However, with new energy, new ideas and some old ideas making a comeback. I know producers like Black Dog Wine will still be selling their wares, some fantastic celebrity chefs such as Aiden Byrne will be on the demo stage. Over the Easter weekend, what better thing to do in Chester than stroll around the stall, fill your boots with local produce and relax watching live music?
What’s new at the 2026 Cheshire and North Wales Food Festival
Some new features of the Cheshire and North Wales Food Festival include a seperate stage for bands to entertain the food lovers. As well as this a fun fair and kids zone will be at this year’s food festival in Chester. There will be an improved site layout too! I personally hope this will supoort all the extra footfall that the food festival will experience in 2026.
It’s no secret I love local businesses and local produce; I will be there eating my way through the day! I fully intend to enjoy the amazing chefs cookery demonstrations, can’t wait actually. Also, I’ll have a couple of drinks, listen to the music music and hopefully get some sun. That would make it an event to remember!
Cheshire has so many food lovers, so many incredible restaurants and artisan producers, as does North Wales. It’s great to see the two areas being celebrated. Over 80 food, drink and artisan retail traders will mean a great opportunity for families and friends to try and buy. Live chef demos, cooking classes, kids zone, and the music zone means plenty to see and do. All in all, here are the ingrdients for a cracking day out in Chester over Easter!
- When – Friday 3rd April – Sunday 5th April
- Where – Chester Racecourse
- Who – Chef demos from Lumberjaxe, Cherish Finden, Aiden Byrne, Matty Edgell, Brin Parathapan
- Who else – Music from Gareth Gates headlining
If you fancy making an Easter weekend mini break in Chester and want to check out the restaurants and bars, I’m here! Come along on a Chester walking food tour one day and enjoy the joys of the CNW Food and Drink festival the next, or the other way round. See you in April!
