Why Chester Restaurant Week Matters to Me
Chester has history going back over 2000 years. Our city boasts unique rows, medieval, cobbled streets and squares, the UKs most continuous Roman walls. The beautiful buildings we have here in the city often house stunning bars, bistros, cafes and restaurants and this week is a celebration of all of it. I’ve bored everyone silly about how hard it’s been for hospitality for the last 5 years, and it’s only going to get harder.
‘Use it or lose it’ can sound flippant or pretentious, but it’s a phase that rings true in 2026. The more we support passionate independents in Chester, the more enriched, diverse and vibrant the city will be.
This is a Chester food crawl!
I feel like it’s a great way to give people a little shove and encourage and help them to try new Chester food venues, local produce, diverse flavours and meet some incredible teams. Along with Chester Food Tours 🙂
Discover the city through its food. Independent restaurants, cafes and bars have so much to offer and yet this year they will be under more pressure than ever to get their wonderful, thought-provoking food out there. They do deserve our support.
